My Xbox 360 just got the three red lights(ring of death) on my Xbox 360. I was wanting to know will that effect my harddrive any? Will I lose anything that was saved onto my harddrive?

I sent my Xbox 360 in to Texas because it had 3 blinking red lights. Obviously I have a warranty for it so it’s all free. Can someone please tell me about how long it will take to get back?

I am looking to buy an Xbox 360 from someone but the Xbox 360 once in awhile (twice in past year) lights up 3 red lights. Is this a problem or common occurrence. Ok so while im playing my xbox 360 it gets the red ring of death (only 2 lights). Problem is, this only occurs with specific games. When i play DVDs or just let it run without touching it, it works fine. But when i play certain games it gets the red ring totally randomly while im playing.
