How can I have my xbox 360 output HDMI video and Optical audio?

My av receiver is is a bit dated and it does not support audio through HDMI. It does support optical audio, as does the xbox 360 when using component cables but those don’t fit in at the same time as the HDMI cable.

Is there some way to split this?

   Yeah, the original elites came with a splitter for high def audio. I don’t know if the current elites come with it or not. It looks like this.
