How can I transfer save game data from my Xbox 360 20gb hardrive to my 60gb hardrive?

Ok so I bought a new xbox 360 because mine wouldn’t read the disks. How can I get my save game data from my old 20GB hard drive to my new 60GB hard drive? Do I have to buy that connection chord thing or what?

   buy a memory card and use that to download it onto the new one
