How long does an xbox 360 generally live?

I’ve heard the xbox 360′s have a 33% fail rate but does that mean that i may be lucky enough to have one last a long time?

   i don’t know but ive had mine going on two years it froze for a while but that was because i had it in my entertainment center and it wasn’t getting enough air so now i put my fan in front ot it and it hasn’t froze yet.DO NOT BUY THE XBOX FANS THAT WILL BRAKE IT

   no it has like a 5% or less I have heard that the PS3 has like a 10% fail rating though

   Many people say it last about 3-5 years but i think it depends in how much you play it and how much you take care of it……

   Anywhere from failing out of the box to never breaking.

   That question does not have a concrete answer. It varies wildly from one person to the next. Some people still have launch units running just fine where as some people have their 360s break every 6 months. I’ve personally had my 360 for one year without any problems. If it makes you feel any better, Microsoft offers a 3 year warranty for the red ring of death.
