Why does my xbox 360 only get the red lights on specific games?
Ok so while im playing my xbox 360 it gets the red ring of death (only 2 lights). Problem is, this only occurs with specific games. When i play DVDs or just let it run without touching it, it works fine. But when i play certain games it gets the red ring totally randomly while im playing. With some games it works fine but with others it randomly freezes up. Anybody have any idea why this happens and what i can do to stop this from happening?

Is it getting plenty of ventilation? Try adjusting it a bit more. Is your power brick plugged into a surge protector? If so, don’t do that. The power brick is already a surge protector and doesnt need one. If 2 are used, they fight over each other and can lead to overheating.
Possible other explanation of intermittent red ring: Some games requiring more processing power will heat up the machine more. Playing a dvd is a simple matter and will not cause excessive heat.

The red lights can also appear when there is any problem with the hard drive and the cooling system inside.
