Why is my Xbox 360 account not letting me join only one persons party and game?

I was on xbox 360 but for some reason it won’t let me join one persons game and party. The only time I can join him is if someone else is in the party. We can’t play alone. It doesn’t work when he invites me or when I invite him! It works for everyone else but him. Please help!

   you must have a setting changed on the xbox or the game for multiplayer, check them all. This happened to me on Halo 3, I had accidentally put my party as private or something like that.
